I was hitchhiking around Australia in 1980, I just came down from the Top End and landed in Geraldton.
When I was up North I was living on the beach dunes, drinking and taking drugs. While sometimes this might sound like a real care free and the alternative life, it was not without disappointments and soul searching. As I slept on the side of the road for three days, outside of Katherine, I could see around me the evidence of a creator... it was obvious!
WHO was this creator, I was not sure. I landed in Geraldton, I was in town for a week and some one witnessed to me downtown. They began to say how Jesus was the answer and at that time in my life I had lots of questions. I did not realise I was being sold a lie from the world that this was the way to have a good time ie party, sex drugs and R & R.
At 19 yrs of age I was literally wasted! going down the drain. I was what the cat dragged in... but Praise God, when I went to church I saw people who were genuinely happy and I thought this is what Christians are and I want to be one. So I gave my life to Christ and since then I have been living everyday for Jesus and he has blessed me and been with me, and when you need a friend Jesus is there! I have a beautiful wife (Vinca) and 4 lovely daughters and a dog called Sunny - who needs to get saved!
IF you do not know Jesus then today is the day of salvation - call upon his name even NOW! and know his Love, Forgiveness and the beginning of a new and happier life.
